At R.I.S.D. we are focused on building a curriculum that’s relevant to today’s world. Our classes are taught by professors with experience in the field, and incorporate today’s technology so that our students are prepared to compete in the workplaces and backyards of today.

R.I.S.D. Founders

R.I.S.D. was founded by three legends: Rataplan, Dogmatix and Milou. These worldly mammals pooled their resources to found our University, Reno Institute for Small Dogs. Milou came to Nevada to film “Tin Tin in America” and invited his colleagues to come along. They fell in love with the high desert and the mountain lakes. These three visionaries saw potential here and room to stretch their legs. Rataplan, Dogmatix and Milou combined a European education and funds earned from film careers to endow the premiere institution for higher learning for small dogs.
R.I.S.D. Accredited Dental School

R.I.S.D. prides itself on its professional schools. Tremendous job opportunities await small dogs interested in the healing professions, committed to keeping everyone healthy. A key part of this education involves paws-on training with live patients supervised by leading doctors in the field.
R.I.S.D. Pack Basketball

The R.I.S.D. pack stresses good fundamentals in passing and hitting those 3 pointers. It’s a challenge, however, when your team’s average height is two and a half feet less than the league average. Still, stellar performances by Sophmore Reina Lohle (pictured) with her amazing hang time allowed the pack to eek out a victory over Shellville’s fighting sheep.
R.I.S.D. Fine Arts

The R.I.S.D. school of Fine Arts adheres to the Fhundstücke movement, championed by artist Mariella Schulz from the Franco-German border region. This movement is a uniquely canine slant on the funk-assemblage found object sculpture tradition. Another key influence of the Fine Arts faculty is Jack DeVore’s Elastic Symbolism school of sculpture in Oregon.
San Francisco Pacific Canine Academy

R.I.S.D Nevada is proud to partner with The San Francisco Pacific Canine Academy (SPCA). Our students can study Marine Biology, Forestry, and Viticulture & Enology beneath the glow of the majestic Golden Gate Bridge.
